Transition is the space "in between "a point of departure and a point of arrival. That space is often filled with difficult behaviours, thoughts and emotions - particularly for children and also for all adults around them: parents, teachers and friends. It is a space that requires particular care. Our schools have a pivotal role to play in supporting the challenges whilst highlighting the positive aspects of being a ‘global nomad’. Children who are emotionally secure will adapt to school life faster but they can only feel balanced and secure if the key people in their lives also feel settled. Having a successful Transitions Programme will enable your community to have a ‘soft landing’, feel they belong and prepare them for the next move. Join Claudine Hakim, head of International School of London’s award-winning Crossroads Transitions Programme, and Evangelos Raptis, family therapist and "nomad parent" in an exploration into the world of Transition Care.: share their experience and insights with hundreds of families over the years.
