Board of Directors
The FOCUS Board of Directors is a group of committed professionals who volunteer their time to support FOCUS.
Board Members come from a number of different professions and contribute to assuring FOCUS serves the needs of its members and sponsors. They meet on a quarterly basis and serve as advisors to the Executive Director.
Margaret Grandy
Chairman of the Board, Past Director of Admission ASL
Margaret is the ex-Director of Admissions at the American School in London. She is a skilled writer and editor and has travelled the world teaching English and working in journalism. She has written numerous publications including a book and several articles published in Australia, Asia and Europe. She has also been extremely involved in volunteer organisations in Thailand, Bangkok, Tunisia, Lebanon, Greece and the Philippines promoting the arts, archaeology, political, children’s and alumni interests.
Pam Drobnyk
Board Member, Past Executive Director FOCUS
Pam was Executive Director of FOCUS from 1992 – 2000. Originally from Chicago, she moved to London in 1983.
She has a degree in English from the University of Illinois and earned a diploma in nutritional therapy from the Institute of Dietary Therapy. Her belief in the importance of volunteering has been strengthened by her involvement with FOCUS.
She is passionate about alternative medicine and loves reading, gardening, walking and painting. She currently lives in Chelsea with her husband.
Stephanie Gladis
Board member, Relocation Consultant
Stephanie is American and has been involved with FOCUS since 2007. She is also involved with St John's Wood Women's Club.
Tim Hyatt
Board Member, Partner at Knight Frank
Tim is British and has worked in the real estate market most of his career. His financial background and understanding of trends in relocation enable FOCUS to proactively manage the business and its future needs.
Lloyd Lee
Board Member, Managing Director Marathon Asset Managment
Lloyd is an American but has been living in London for over eight years. His financial expertise is invaluable to FOCUS and he has been a Board Member since 2006.
Barbara Rees
Board Member, Past Executive Director of FOCUS.
Barbara is American and has been executive director of FOCUS from 2006 to 2011. Her background is in marketing and she has worked for the cosmetic industry and as well as catering and hospitality while living in the USA and Italy.
Amanda Sheridan
Board Member, Managing Director and main partner in The Relocation Consultancy,
Amanda returned with her family in 2007 from a 6 year assignment in Dubai, where she was a founder and Campaign Director of one of the UAE’s most successful charities, www.Foresightrp.com. Prior to starting a family Amanda was Head of Marketing at ECA International, Europe’s leading provider of assignment consultancy and data to HR professionals. She has also worked in marketing and HR consultancy, recruitment and training, both in the UK and abroad.The Relocation Consultancy have been specialists in bespoke executive relocation services for over 20 years.
Ellen Shipley
Board Member, Vice President Global Mobility BT
Ellen's career in Global Mobility and her current position at British Telecom gives her a comprehensive perspective in the needs of FOCUS clients and currents issues and concerns. Ellen is American but has lived on and off in London for the over 15 years.
Alison Van Dalen
Board member, Home Search & Property Specialist at Pricoa, Chairman of the ARP Association of Relocation Professionals
Born in Leicester, Alison went to college in London where she trained as a teacher. She then went to the Middle East for 10 years where she worked in HR at Citibank. Alison has ben working in relocation since 1995 when she started at Karen Deane.
